Al Jazeera bericht: 'Arab nations slam international “silence” over Israeli terrorism.

The foreign ministers of Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Syria, attending a meeting on Iraq in Iran, slammed the Jewish State for the “increasing aggression against the Palestinian people”.They also criticised the International Community for its “silence” over the Israeli terrorism in Gaza, AFP reported. “The Arab foreign ministers participating in today’s Teheran meeting expressed their strong condemnation of this continuing and increasing aggression against the Palestinian people,” Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said.The officials, who gathered in Teheran Saturday for a two-day conference on security in Iraq issued a statement voicing their “sorrow over international silence, and held United Nations Security Council members responsible for the dangerous violations of international laws and treaties”.They also “decided to continue consultations among themselves and other foreign ministers of Arab nations to take necessary steps over the aggressive Israeli policies”.
• Israel rejects Hamas initiativeMeanwhile, Palestinian Prime Minister, Ismail Haniya, called for a two-way ceasefire and immediate suspension of Israel's military operation it began in Gaza last month, which has so far claimed the lives of 36 Palestinians and one Israeli soldier.
But Israel rejected the initiative, repeating its demand of unconditional release of the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who had been kidnapped by Palestinian resistance fighters seeking to pressure the Jewish State to release Palestinian prisoners held in its jails.' Lees verder:
